This neighbourhood is in a critical moment. For decades, it has been a centre of culture, business, and community life, yet rising land values, redevelopment pressures, the Eglinton Crosstown LRT, and the lack of intentional community-centred policies have accelerated displacement for residents, businesses, and community spaces.
That is why we're asking for you to guide the development of a community-led plan by filling in this short 5–7 minute survey.
This priorities of the draft community-led plan sets out a 20-year strategy to respond to displacement and to provide support for people to remain, return, and thrive. It builds on our over seven years of organizing and two years of direct community consultation alongside a rich history and context of ongoing community-led initiatives.
Having a clear community voice is essential as the City of Toronto is publiishing a Little Jamaica and Oakwood Vaughan Framework Plan at the end of this year. The City's most recent public proposal, published April 7 2026, removed significant parts of the neighbourhood from the area that would be considered for tailored housing, and social and economic development policies to address displacement and/or anti-Black racism.
Fill in this survey to ensure community priorities are clearly defined and cannot be overlooked in these and future decisions.
